It was only a matter of time.
TexaZuela was born out of two lives, two traditions, and one undeniable truth. Some flavors are simply meant to meet!
Claudia, rooted in Venezuelan culture, grew up with arepas, plantains, and the vibrant spices of her homeland. Jesus, a proud Texan, fell in love with the art of slow-smoked BBQ — brisket, picanha, pulled pork, and chicken smoked low and slow over post oak.
From the beginning, we’ve always mixed our foods — smoked meats tucked into arepas, chimichurri drizzled over brisket, pulled pork topped with guasacaca. What started as experiments in our own kitchen became the foundation of something bigger.
Not long ago, Claudia looked at Jesus and said, “I’m doing it. I’m starting TexaZuela — with or without you.” He laughed, asked, “Oh yeah? Who’s going to cook?” and then quickly agreed: “Okay, I’m in. Let’s do it.”
That spark turned years of blending flavors into a vision. TexaZuela isn’t just food. It’s our family, our traditions, and our love for community wrapped into every arepa. Built from the ground up right here in Austin, we’re proud to share it with you.
100% smoked with love. ❤️
